Cultures in Dialogue

The world today is replete with tensions and conflicts on religious and political issues. Whilst some may interpret such conflicts as proof of an inevitable clash between the West and the Muslim world, The Cordoba Foundation (TCF) works alongside many others to prove that such a clash is neither inevitable, nor necessary.

At times when human minds and intellects clash, the spirit of Cordoba is evoked. The symbol of human excellence, intellectual ingenuity and spiritual elation, Cordoba, the city, civilization and people, remains living evidence of the ability of minds and aspirations to meet, collaborate and strive for the common goal of advancement and success.

News Release: 10 Years of Guantanamo

On 11 January 2002, the first of nearly 800 prisoners was sent to the US military prison camp at Guantanamo Bay. Images of these men kneeling and shackled, wearing orange boiler suits, goggled and masked, shocked the world. Ten years on, 171 prisoners still remain in captivity - all without due process and without a feasible end to their suffering in sight.

The Death of Shaykh Maymun Zarzur: A Real Tragedy

The Cordoba Foundation (TCF) expresses its sadness at the untimely death of Shaykh Maymun Zarzur, the Imam at the Muslim Welfare House in North London after morning prayers on Friday 2nd September. Although the case is still being investigated by the police, it is believed that the Imam was killed in his office by a member of the community who was seeking Shaykh Zarzur's counsel
